Chinese character from the challenges and opportunities it will face in digital context.
Through the study, the author reckons that a new index for Chinese character design would be set at the present times as a result from the liberation of technologies in this information era. Also, the diversified development of humanity and society and the increase of people’s demand for Chinese character both are very important incentives to the new-setting index, which is bination of function and emotion. In addition to this, being rational and intuitional is another requirement to Chinese character design in nowadays, which can be concluded as attaching importance to the inheritance of national culture and to people’s emotional appeal.
