Aims of the Course:
 
On pletion of the course students will have developed an understanding of the challenges involved in the logistics involved in the management of business ventures ranging from small regional businesses to those of a multinational nature. The course assumes that students have a basic knowledge of supply chain management and wish to extend that knowledge.
 
Course Structure:
 
The course will consist of 39 hours of class prising on average 1 lecture and one two hour tutorial per week. The course will involve an appreciation of software used to assist in the management of logistics and some time may be spent in puter laboratories.
Assessment:
 
The assessment for the subject will be
 
One major essay assignment of 1,500 words
One 3-hour examination

-   Overview from basic concepts to collaborative supply works
Inventory
-  Purchasing, inventory management, control, data collection (barcodes & RFID), reorder points and emerging trends like Collaborative Planning Forecasting & Replenishment
