Vampires are mythological (神话的)or folkloric(民间传说的) beings who subsist(生存) by feeding on the life essence of living creatures, regardless of whether they are undead or a living person.
In other words, vampires are the creatures that feed on blood.

在西方故事中吸血鬼的祖先是该隐。
亚当与妻子夏娃,生下该隐(Cain)和亚伯。亚伯是个牧人,该隐则是个耕田人。到了向上帝供奉的日子,该隐贡献土地产品;亚伯则献出一些精选的乳羊。上帝看中了亚伯的供品,没看中该隐的贡品。该隐很生气。就邀弟弟亚伯到野外去。当他们到了那里,该隐就把亚伯杀死。后来,上帝知道了这个事情,很是愤怒。
上帝惩罚他终生流浪,只能以吸血为生,虽然永远不会死,但他必将受到所有世人的追杀。该隐的后代就形成了现在的吸血鬼家族。

The history of vampires
It can date back to the early eenth century when vampires were recorded in the folkloric tales.
The fascinating and sophisticated vampire of modern fiction was born in 1819 with the publication of The Vampire by John Polidori.
In 1897, Bram Stoker wrote a novel named Dracula which is regarded as the typical vampire novel and provided the basis of modern vampire legend.
Dracula:翻译为德拉库拉,是英国小说中最著名的一个吸血鬼的名字,带有恶魔的含义,其作为吸血鬼的代表曾在多部描写吸血鬼的影片中出现。
The vampire is are in an awkward position: neither God nor the devil. They are monsters.
Now, the metaphor of the vampire is to describe someone who exploits or robs people’s money, ideas or other resources.
It‘s generally believed that human beings can be turned into the vampire. In some novels, when people were bitten by a vampire, they will e a vampire, and some also believe that people will e vampires after they drink vampire's blood.
To kill a vampire must cut off their heads or stab wood into their hearts.
