Thorax airbag: a pressured bag is positioned between the door and the occupant to protect the ribs and the abdomen of the occupant. It is usually used together with a head protection system.

A head and thorax module protect the ribs, the abdomen and the head of the occupant.
It is usually used in cabriolet vehicle or vehicle not equipped with IC.
It is mounted in the vehicle the same way as a thorax module.

This is not preferred design, it has to be used for example at the back seat when the seat are removable and the module can not be in the seat.
