[Abstract] The abstract represents the main content of a medical article. It is short but difficult to be properly written. This article summarizes mon errors of the English abstracts written by Chinese authors with an attempt to improve the quality of this important section in a medical article.

对于一篇医学文献而言,摘要是全文精华的浓缩,也是读者最常阅读的内容。而对于许多国内中文期刊,英文摘要则可能是国外读者了解论文内容的唯一窗口,其重要性不言而喻。目前,许多国内医学期刊的英文摘要主要遵循国标和《美国医学会体例格式手册》[1],即采用结构式摘要,包括:目的(objective)、方法(methods)、结果(results)和结论(conclusion)四部分。然而,尽管国内外有大量文献再三强调过英文摘要的重要性并介绍过撰写方法,但从笔者接触过的国内投稿来看,仍然存在许多共性的不当之处。本文总结了一些国内医学期刊英文摘要中常见的语法错误,以期为医学科研写作者提供参考。
