Abstract
 
How can we deal with journalistic translation smoothly and exactly? First of all, we must know about the characteristics of news and prevent two extremes in translation. Accuracy and reality are the main traits of journalistic translation. As translators we prehend original text seriously and make sense of the responsibility of our own. Meanwhile, we should realize some defects and try our best to keep us from them. Moreover, it is useful for us to grasp some cultural background, because culture is connected with news translation closely including policy, economy and daily life and so on. If we don’t own wide cultural knowledge, we will be unable to move even a single step in journalistic translation. Finally, we couldn’t ignore an important point----lexis, which is the basis of journalistic interpretation. It posed of the basic unit of phrases, idioms, sentences and articles.
