什么是幸福?柏拉图问苏格拉底。苏格拉底说:请你穿越田野,去摘一朵最美的花。于是柏拉图去做了。许久之后,他捧著一朵花回来。
What is happiness ? Plato asked Socrates. Socrates said: Would you please go through the field to pick up one of the most beautiful flowers. After a while, Plato brought a flower back.
苏格拉底问:这就是最美的花吗? 柏拉图说道:当我在田野里看到了这朵花,就认定了它是最美的那朵,即使我又看见很多美丽的花也不再动摇。 苏格拉底说:这,就是幸福。
Socrates: Is this the most beautiful flower? Plato said: When I saw it in the field, I recognized that it was the most beautiful one. Even if I saw many other beautiful flowers afterwards, I did not waver. Socrates said: This is happiness.
