The reason why he came late was that he
didn’t catch the early bus.

What I am interested in is how you can
make such rapid progress in such a short
time.
13. 你刚才所说的听起来很有道理。
What you said just now sounded reasonable.
14. 他们似乎在吃什么东西。
They seemed to be eating something.
15. 尽管他已经成名,但他仍很谦虚。
Although he has e famous, he remains
modest.
句型二:主语+谓语
1. 现在每个人都很努力地工作。
Everybody is now working hard.
2. 彼得躺在床上,陷入了沉思。
Peter lay in bed, deep in thought.
3. 在老师的帮助下,他成功了。
He eeded with the help of his teachers.
4. 他坐在角落里以免引起注意。
He sat in the corner so as not to be noticed
by anybody.
5. 他赶到那儿结果发现火车已经开走了。
He got there only to find the train had left.
6. 他坐在炉火边读一本小说。
He sat by the fire, reading a novel.
7. 他跑来告诉我这个好消息。
He came running to tell me the good news.
8. 老师走进教室,后面跟着一群学生。
The teacher came into the classroom,
followed by a group of students.
9. 他常开着窗子睡觉。
He usually sleeps with the windows open.
10. 父母双亡,那女孩只好辍学。
With her parents dead, the girl had to leave
school.
11. 华灯初放,大街看上去很美。
The street looks very beautiful with all the
lights on.
12. 那孩子躺在草地上,眼睛望着天空。
The child lay on the grassland, with his/her
eyes looking into the sky.
13. 所有工作都做完了,他出去散步了。
With all the work done, he went out for a
walk.
14. 机器想必是出毛病了。
There must be something wrong with the
machine.
15. 车站附近碰巧有个电话亭。
There happened to be a telephone booth
near the bus stop.
16. 在山顶上耸立着一座塔。
There stands a tower on the top of the hill.
句型三:主语+谓语+宾语
李平英语讲得很流利。
Li Ping speaks English very fluently.
2. 她在厨房做饭时把自己砍伤了。
She cut herself while cooking in the kitchen.
3. 我在盼望台湾回归祖国的那一天。
I’m looking forward to the day when Taiwan returns to China.
4. 我不喜欢被嘲笑。
I dislike being laughed at.
5. 他已写完了关于那次医学会议的报道。
He has finished writing the report on
