General requirements for the Laboratory Accreditation
Introduction
These general requirements (hereinafter referred to as this standard) set forth requirements
applicable to quality control systems and test equipment that a testing laboratory must possess when
applying for laboratory accreditation from the Voluntary EMC Laboratory Accreditation Center, Inc.
(hereinafter referred to as this Center).
These requirements are based on ISO/IEC 17025, “General requirements for petence of
calibration and testing laboratories.”
However, the items and provisions of the aforesaid document that apply to calibration bodies and
analysis bodies shall not apply hereunder, since the accreditation work performed by this Center
targets laboratories involved in the field of EMC. Specifically:
a) Items marked Calibration Body shall not apply.
b) Of the description of calibration methods, those items to be performed by calibration bodies shall
not apply.
c) Descriptions of sampling shall not apply.
