APPLICATION FOR PARTICIPATING BODY STATUS
I. INTRODUCTION
The Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) is the professional body that accredits academic programs in engineering and engineering technology. Its mission is plished through the professional engineering societies.
Currently there is no designated professional society (and no specific criteria) for accrediting academic programs in Systems Engineering. The International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) is the only professional society with a focused capability that addresses a wide range of industries to determine and implement appropriate criteria for Systems Engineering accreditation.
