Dear Editor-in-Chief,
Congratulations on the 5th anniversary of Global Mirror!
I’m a loyal reader of your newspaper. There is no denying the fact that it has many advantages. For my part, I like it for the following two reasons. For one thing, it covers both national and international news so that I can know more about the world and broaden my horizon by simply turning the pages. For another, the ess stories of world-famous people help me shape my sense of value and it is their ess stories that make me decide to spare no effort to make the world a better place.
As a student, I suggest that Global Mirror publish some articles about English learning and I hope that it will e even more popular.

基础指导(三)——遣词造句
(1)我把钥匙忘在车里了。
A. I forgot my keys in the car. (F)
B. I left my keys in the car. (T)
(2)他整天玩电脑游戏,结果考试失败了。
A. He was puter games all the time; as a result, he failed in the exam.
B. He buried himself in puter games; consequently, he failed in the exam. (较好)
二、连词成句
选择好词汇后,连词成句是十分关键的一步。其中应注意以下几点:
1. 完整 2. 连贯 3. 简洁 4. 强调 5. 多样
(1)使用与别人不同的表达方式,特别是能打破汉语句子结构的束缚而重组的句子更受欢迎。
①所有的同学在我起床之前已开始读英语了。
A. All the classmates had started reading English before I did not get up. (F)
B. All the classmates had started reading English before I got up. (T)
