Experimental Investigation on the Ignition Temperature of
Pulverized Coal Particles in O2/CO2 Environments

Abstract The ignition behavior of pulverized coal particles was determined by the measurement
of O2 and NO concentration evolution through the flue gas analyzer at different wall temperatures
of drop tube furnace, and the ignition temperatures of pulverized coal particles at different O2/CO2
environments and air environment were measured as the minimum gas temperatures at the critical
ignition condition. The results show that the ignition temperature of pulverized coal particles
◦◦
at 21%O2/79%CO2 environment is higher from 62 C to 130 C than that
