文档介绍:Introduction
This tutorial is geared toward the beginner though it is always a good reference for all Sims 2
object creators. In this tutorial I will teach you from start to finish how to create a basic object for
The Sims 2. One of the mon mistakes by all of us when we first start is choosing an
object that is plex for our capabilities. There are several programs used in this tutorial and
though I will clearly show you how to use many features of them, I can not cover everything.
Objects like beds, instruments, windows, lamps, and so on contain animations which if not
handled properly will be disturbed causing the object to not work in game like it should.
Choosing an object to create
There is a wide variety of objects that I consider easy to make for the beginner. What I mean by
easy is the object that you would clone to replace with your custom object would not be plex
one. plexity of your actual custom objects in the future will depend on your skills with
your 3D editor. Objects that I consider to be good “clone base objects” would be tables, chairs,
paintings, sculptures and any other object with little animation. These types of objects also
contain (or should) one GMDC file and coloring by textures (paint) and not with the MMAT files.
For this tutorial we will make a “Dining Table”. Our Clone Base object will be the “Talking Table
This is a very simple object to clone because we are only changing the object itself (the mesh and
texture). The Sims 2 likes objects (meshes) and textures (paint) that are small in polygons and
size. What a lot of first time creators do not realize is that simple meshes (box, circles and spheres
to name a few) can be turned into highly detailed objects through the texture (paint). The model
we will create for our object will use all basic shapes that will be (grouped as one) together. This
will allow you to learn many of the basic tools in your 3D program. You will also learn how to UV
