Introduction:
Delivering goods to the buyer is one of the seller’s major obligations under the sales contract. The seller should fulfil the obligation quickly, carefully and economically.
Method of Shipment:
In international trade, shipment can be made by sea, air, rail, truck and parcel post. In order to deliver goods more efficiently, we also have multimodal transport and land bridge transport. The choice of shipping methods depends on the nature of the products, the distance to be shipped, available means of transportation,
and relative freight costs.

Terms of Shipment:
Terms of shipment usually cover time of shipment, port of shipment and port of destination, transshipment and partial
shipments, conditions of shipment, etc.

Shipment during September / September shipment
Shipment on or about December 15
Shipment within 30 days after receipt of the relevant L/C
of shipment and port of destination
The port of shipment and the port of destination are related to trade terms.

If optional ports are necessary they may be stipulated in the following ways:
FOB Dalian and Tianjin, China
CIF London / Hamburg / Rotterdam optional. Optional charges for buyer’s account
CIF London, optional Hamburg / Rotterdam. Optional charges 选港附加费/ fees for buyer’s account.

Here are some examples of contract stipulations concerning transshipment:

Examples of partial shipments in sales contracts:
Shipments shall be effected at intervals of every other month每隔一个月.
Shipment to be spread over 5 months, beginning from May.
Ship half of the order in May and the balance one month later

Shipment by Chinese flag vessels only
