ABSTRACT
The role putational fluid dynamics (CFD) in the design of fighter aircraft, transport aircraft, launch
vehicle and missiles in India is explained. Indigenous developments of grid generators, 3-D Euler and Navier-
Stokes solvers using state-of-the-art numerical techniques and physical models have been described. Applications
of these indigenous softwares for the prediction of plex aerodynamic flows over a wide range of
Mach number, angle of attacks, are presented. Emergence of CFD methods as an efficient tool for aerospace
vehicle design is highlighted.
