摘要
本翻译实践报告以笔者节选翻译美国著名女作家薇拉·凯瑟的传记为基础,是对此
次翻译实践的过程、完成情况的一个介绍、研究和总结。本文由任务描述、任务过程、
译前准备、案例分析和翻译实践总结五个部分组成。
第一至三章的任务描述、任务过程和译前准备部分是对本次任务一个整体的介绍。
此案例文本描述了薇拉·凯瑟保护自己隐私和揭露他人隐私的矛盾行为和原因。大致分
三步进行翻译,首先研读理解原文;再读原文,着手翻译;最后,审校译文。
第四章的案例文本分析是论文的核心部分,笔者通过翻译人物传记,介绍了案例的
翻译过程,主要包括文本翻译和文本审校两个部分。主要是从文本的词、句的角度,对
人物传记的翻译策略和一些技巧、方法进行了初步的探讨和研究。从文章的语篇角度对
译文进行了审校和修改,符合忠实、通顺的标准,但在文笔方面还有待加强。
在第五章的翻译实践总结部分,笔者简单叙述了在翻译中遇到的一些困难,如大量
人名书名、长难句的翻译和一些翻译技巧的灵活运用,深刻体会了想要翻译出高质量的
译文就必须胆大心细,不断质疑自己,不厌其烦地反复修改和审校。

Abstract
Based on my translation of the biography of Willa Cather, a famous American female
writer, this translation practice report describes, analyzes and summarizes the translation task.
The report consists of five major parts.
The first three chapters are task description, procedure description and the preparation,
which introduced the task in general. The text described Willa Cather’s contradictory
personality, for she was digging other’s privacy while valuing that of her own. I should be
aware of the biography’s epic and historical style. So the translation procedures include
comprehension, translation and revise.
The case-analysis part in Chapter Four is the essence of the report. Based on the
biography, I introduced the translation process including the text translation and the revise of
the translation. An initial exploration and research is made on the biography translation skills
and methods from both words and sentences perspective. Then I revised the translation text
from a discourse ana
