【Abstract】 AIM:To study the changes of plasma endothelin (ET),calcitonin gene relative peptide (CGRP) and neuropeptide Y (NPY) in patients with congestive heart failure and their clinical significance. METHODS: There were 42 patients (male 31,female 11, age 47±12 years old) with congestive heart failure including cor pulmonale(n=10),rheumatic heart disease(n=19) and dilated cardiomyopathy(n=13), and cardiac function (NYHA grade) consisted of Ⅱ(n=14), Ⅲ(n=23) and Ⅳgrade (n=5). With routine therapy for the patients, plasma levels of ET, CGRP, NPY were determinated by radioimmunossay kit at fasting 07:00 AM in second hospitalization day and 4 weeks after : After internal medical therapy for 4 weeks, there were effects and cardiac function improvment toⅠ(n=9),Ⅱ(n=28),Ⅲ(n=4) and Ⅳgrade (n=1); and in contrast with pretherapy, plasma (μg&#12539;L-1)ET(112±28 vs 74±15,P<001),CGRP(89±29 vs 67±18,P<) and NPY(186±
19 vs 139±17,P<)were obviously lowered, and plasma ET level correlated with CGRP or NPY significantly(r=~,P<); and unchanged than that control(P>).CONCLUSION: After internal medical therapy for patients with congestive heart failure can be improved the contents of plasma ET, CGRP and NPY.
