摘要
本文以言语行为理论为基础,就莎士比亚《第十二夜》中的显著特色反讽的
使用进行详尽的分析。
本文回顾了从文学和语言学角度分析反讽的理论研究,详尽描述了反讽和言
语行为理论之间的联系,回顾了莎士比亚的反讽风格及其在《第十二夜》中的运
用,最后从言语行为理论的角度对《第十二夜》中的反讽进行个案分析。
随着语用学的发展,许多核心的理论都被成功的用于文学批评,因此产生了
一门新的交叉学科—文学语用学,而言语行为理论就是其主要理论并得到广泛
发展。
作为全世界伟大的剧作家,莎士比亚将反讽艺术成功的运用于他的戏剧《第
十二夜》中,然而在莎士比亚这部戏剧中,大部分评论集中在作者本身或作品的
思想性方面,既然莎士比亚花费了如此多的时间在提炼他的语言,我们在分析他
的作品时就不应该忽略其语言技巧。
鉴于以上几点,本文运用 Austin 和 Searle 的言语行为理论对莎士比亚《第十
二夜》中的反讽进行个案分析,不仅可以丰富我们对这部戏剧中反讽性语言的理
解,还可以验证语用理论,特别是言语行为理论在文学研究中的应用。

Irony in William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night—From the Perspective of Speech Act Theory
Abstract
This thesis is intended to make a detailed analysis of the pragmatic feature of irony
in Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night within the framework of Speech Act Theory.
It approaches irony in both literary and linguistic fields, elaborates the connections
between irony and speech act theory, reviews previous literary criticism on
Shakespeare’s irony in Twelfth Night and finally makes a case study of the ironic
feature in the drama from the perspective of speech act theory.
With the development of the pragmatics, many of its core theories have found a
essful application in literary criticism and therefore generated a new interdiscipline
— Literary Pragmatics, in which the dominant theory is speech act theory and which
has a wide range of application.
As one of the greatest playwrights in the world, Shakespeare employed irony in
his drama Twelfth Night supremely well. However, many scholars mainly focus their
attention to the author or the content of irony in Twelfth Night. Since the author played
so much time on his language, we have no reason to neglect his language technique in
the study.
