The differences between Chinese and Western Patterns of Thought And translation strategies
Abstract
Translation is a kind of link or bridge for people with different languages municate with each other; it is a process of translating between the original and target languages. Translation studies has drawn a lot upon the research results of the related disciplines, which enable us to view and summarize translation studies and practice from different perspectives. What’s more, it has helped to enrich and expand the academic field of translation studies.
This thesis is detailed and systematic study of the differences between Chinese and Western cultures that are reflected in the languages, which is aimed at shedding light on the problems that translators are likely to face in translation between Chinese and English, and a discussion and illustration of translation strategies directed at the very factor of cultural, which is intended to be a problem-solving section. Then ,combined with the analysis of the factors that are prone to influence the choice of translation strategies by the translator, several strategies that are frequently resorte
