Abstract: In this paper a cluster head selection algorithm based on joint probability of the
comprehensive weight (JPCW) is proposed in order to balance the nodes energy consumption and
work lifetime. JPCW work lifetime affecting factors into two aspects, one can
be summarized work state and the other one is sensor node itself state and imports the joint
probability theory in Probability Theory to joint optimize the two main aspects, and inside the two
aspects prehensive weight idea to reveal the weight value factors. In addition, this paper
adopts the Standard Deviation method in Statistics which is an objective weighting method to decide
the weight coefficient. Eventually, comparing with the traditional protocol, the simulation results show
that the proposed protocol is rational and efficient in WSN.

0 Introduction
Wireless work (WSN) ,as an effective access to information, is consisted by a large
number of sensors nodes in the monitoring area, hundreds of thousands of sensor nodes
percept, collect and process informat
