文档介绍:Dear Reader:
Hi and e to the free printable copy of Basic Music Theory: How to Read, Write
and Understand Written Music. After much thought I've decided to release the print
lock on this book so that it can be used by anyone in a more flexible way, whether it’s
in the classroom, on your own private music stand, or even if you’d like to print up a
few pages to read on the beach.
I believe in music and education more than I believe in capitalism. Offering a free,
printable book represents my teaching philosophy and also, strange as it may sound, my
business approach.
At the moment I pleting a PhD in music education at Northwestern University,
one of the country’s leading institutions in the field of music education research, practice
and teacher education. It’s also got some world-class performers and is in Chicago’s
back yard.
Unfortunately, being a graduate music student is not very lucrative and so I am not
financially able to keep Basic Music Theory in print. Hence the free PDF.
My first hope is that you find this book useful, informative, and fun (or at least two out
of those three).
My second hope is that you can spare a dollar or more to contribute to my own further
education. This book normally costs $, and even then, it’s difficult to print multiple
copies of a book. With this PDF, you can have at it! As many copies as you need. I hope
that is worth a small donation from you. A sliding scale is appropriate, I think. If it’s
only you, y percent off the cover price, or $, would be wonderful if you can
spare it. If you’re a teacher who uses multiple copies throughout the year(s), whatever
you can spare for each year of use would also be wonderful.
If you are reading this on puter hooked up to the , a donation can be made
