A GIS-Based Decision Support System for

It was implemented according to a
three-step schema that involves (a) the
database, (b) a number of mathematical
models for traffic assignment as well as
for emission and energy consumption
estimation, and (c) the user-interface for
creating “what-if?” scenarios and
presenting model results through
appropriate thematic maps, figures and
