[摘要] “山水城市”这一说法内涵既充满了现代化时代精神，又表现出浓郁中国文化特色。中国城市把山水作为建构城市要素，形成山水成一体美景，究其原因，正是中国传统“天人合一”哲学理念，并和重视山水构图和城市选址布局“风水学说”理论相关。风水理论中讲究山水和城市、人和自然共生、共存、共荣标准，所以在古典山水城市多有表现。山阳水阴是一对阴阳关系，在生态意义上强调“得水为上，藏风次之”，山水二者“实相乘也”。而城市则是嵌合于良好山水关系自间，是山和水产物，三者是协调共生。在风水学说所叙述风水环境中多种组成要素关系，其最终目标全部是求得人和自然友好相处，即人居环境共生关系。归结到底，山水城市正是生态学理念一个反应。
