Step1. Come to “THINK AOBUT IT”.

How do you stay safe?
Then ask students to discuss in class.
Step2. New words
Teach new words of the lesson, pay attention to the following words.
suddenly→形容词sudden, careful→反义词careless, afraid→近义词scary, strange→stranger, blood→动词bleed
Step3. Let’s Do It!
Finish Exercise 1 on Page 39. Tell students not to look at the books while listening. Play the tape twice. Then ask students to tell if it is true or false.
Step4. Read
Read the lesson. Ask students to answer the following questions in groups. Then check answers as a class.
1. What was probably the reason why Jackie fell off the bike?
Maybe he rode over a hole in the road.
2. What did Jackie do when she heard a car coming?
