文档介绍：IIIII I 论《缅甸岁月》中的东方形象研究生姓名:梁智标导师姓名: 吴锡民学科专业: 比较文学与世界文学研究方向: 欧美文学研究年级: 2010级摘要《缅甸岁月》是乔治·奥威尔的第一部小说,是奥威尔思想观和价值观的首次体现。该小说描写的是位于东方的缅甸,属于英帝国后期的殖民地的缅甸,处于动荡不安的世界环境的缅甸。小说中细致的人物刻画,真实的环境描写,直观的语言叙述,深刻的主题含义,都是这部小说在阅读和研究方面经久不衰的原因。当今后殖民主义理论与批评涌起, 中外学者们对这部小说的关注度也提升,对这部小说的研究也不断更新。在《缅甸岁月》中,东方的环境、人物和话语尤为突出,它们亦是比较文学形象学中的主要研究素材。因此,本文试图从《缅甸岁月》中的东方形象进行分析。首先,通过小说中缅甸的自然环境和人文景观,呈现东方缅甸特殊的环境;通过小说中缅甸人的外表和动作,呈现东方缅甸特别的风情;通过小说中缅甸人与英印人的语言,呈现东方缅甸异域的风貌;然后,结合当时的世界及英帝国政治经济环境和作家自身经历,分析这个东方形象形成的历史成因;最后,参照殖民主义和后殖民主义的理论,综合分析小说中这个缅甸东方形象的价值意义,如殖民者错误观念的衰朽、帝国内民族主义知识分子的觉醒和新式写作方式的开创。关键词:乔治·奥威尔;《缅甸岁月》;东方形象;呈现;成因;意义 II Discussion aboutthe Oriental Images in Burmese Days Abstract Burmese Days is the first fiction of eOrwell, which presents Orwell’s thought and value. The place this fiction describesis located in the east, belonged to BritainEmpire colonies, and was in the period of worldwideturmoil. What makes this fiction long-living are the deeply curved people, the factually described circumstance, the direct words told and wrote, and profound theme. Nowadays post-colonialism theories and e forth so that more and more specialists and scholars in this field from the west and the east sink in it. In Burmese Days, environment, characters and discourse are obvious, which are the main materialfor the Imagology parative literature. Therefore, in this thesis, Ido my best in analyzingthe oriental image in Burmese Days. Firstly, Irepresent special Burmese environmentvia the Burmese nature and human landscapes, displace unique Burmese charactersby means of their appearanceand customs, express exotic sense through Burmese’s and Britain—Indian’s words. Secondly, he surrounding of contemporary global condition, the British Empire’s conditions and writer’s own experience, so as to clarify the historical root of the oriental image.
