The result showed that the temperature distribution in Gansu Province gradually decreased from southeast to northwest, from basin and valley to plateau and high mountain. The annual average precipitation of the whole province was generally decreasing from southeast to northwest, with more in Southeast and less in Northwest. There was a relatively small rain belt in the middle of Gansu. Rainstorm mainly occurred from south of Longdong to southeast of Longnan, with an average of less than one day. Hail spread all over the province, closely related to the local altitude, terrain and local climate. With the increase of altitude, hailstones increased, and there were more plateaus and mountainous areas than in plain area, and more cold and wet areas than warm and dry areas; most sandstorms occurred in Hexi area. Since 1960, the annual average temperature in Gansu Province had shown an obvious upward trend, especially after 1997. The annual precipitation had generally shown a decreasing trend, but the Hexi area had shown
