一、比较政治研究的方法
（一）比较什么：比较政治研究的对象
历史上，比较政治的研究内容和对象经历了不同的发展阶段，并与政治学研究范畴的变化基本一致：
1．比较宪法
2．比较政府
3．比较政治
研究对象范畴的变化：政府结构与政治制度——政治行为——公共政策
从相关研究所涉及的地域范围来看，比较政治一般在这样一些层次展开：
1．对单个国家的研究（studies of one country）
2．对两个或更多国家的研究(studies of two or more countries)
3．地区或区域研究(regional or area studies)
4．跨地区研究（studies across regions）
5．全球比较（global comparisons）
