The Trend of Foreignization in Translation in the Context of Cultural Globalization
摘要
在翻译中有两种翻译策略:归化与异化。归化指消除源文本中的一切陌生感
和异域性,使译文读起来像原著,归化译法以目标语言为中心;异化指将源语言
的异域性最大限度地保留,译文读起来就像译著,异化译法以文化交流为中心。
过去,归化一直占据主要地位,而异化则处于从属地位。如今,随着国家之间不
断加强的政治与经济合作,各民族日益频繁的文化交流使得文化全球化,这不仅
促进读者了解彼此的文化,而且也推动了异化这一翻译策略的广泛采用,异化开
始成为翻译的趋势。
传统的翻译研究历来比较重视语言层面的分析,却对语言翻译过程中所涉及
的文化现象有所忽视。然而,随着信息的传播和大众传媒的日益普及,使得文化
与全球化与的关系密不可分。文化全球化作为经济全球化的一个直接后果,对各
民族间文化的传播、交流提出了新的要求。因此,从文化全球化的语境下进一步
研究翻译策略具有重大意义,因为在全球化大背景中翻译实际上变成了一种文化
传播和文化阐释。译者在进行翻译时,应该摆脱纯语言文字层面的束缚,将源文
置于广阔的文化全球语境之下去研究。与此同时,译者更应顺应这一形势,在翻
译过程中,尽量采取异化的翻译策略,最大程度地保留我国优秀传统文化的特色,
并将这些传统文化传播到世界各地,让更多的人了解。
本文试图在以文化全球化的背景下,通过对归化和异化策略的分析与对比,
结合具体实例,论述在文化交流为目的的翻译职能中,异化是翻译的必然趋势。
希望此文能够使读者进一步了解异化作为一种翻译策略在翻译中的优势,同时也
希望这次在异化方面的初步尝试能够将翻译领域中对异化的研究推向一个新的高
度。

Abstract
There are two translating strategies in translation.: domestication and foreignization.
Domestication means removing all strangeness and foreignness of the ST (source text)
and making the translation read exactly like the original. Domestication is oriented to
the TL (target language). Foreignization is quite the opposite approach which is trying
to retain the foreignness of the SL (source language) to the greatest extent, making the
translation read like translated one. Foreignization is oriented to the cultural
communication. In the past, domestication played a major role while foreignization
was just in a subordinate status. Nowadays, with the increasing development of
political and economic cooperation among different nations, the cultural globalization
is being formed, laying a good foundation not only for the readers to understand each
other’s culture, but also for the possibility of the wide application of foreignization in
