Period 1 Reading and Vocabulary
I. Teaching Objects:
A. Knowledge objects:
By the end of the class, most students should be able to:
a. guess the meanings of some new words by pictures and sentences.
b. get the meaning of difficult words according to match activity.
c. infer the deep meaning of the sentences.
B. Ability Objects:
By the end of the class, most students should be able to:
know the general idea and the structure of the passage by scanning and skimming.
understand the details of this passage by answering some questions.
use the new words and phrases they learned to give a brief introduction about Yunnan and Naxi culture.
C. Moral Objects:
By the end of the class, most students should be able to:
enlarge the knowledge of Yunnan and Naxi culture.
arise their thinking about equal: However different we may appear to be at first, we are all the same, all equal.
II. Teaching Analysis:
A. The analysis of teaching:
It’s a travel diary about Yunnan, through what Simon has seen and his feeling about this travel, introduce Lijiang old town and Naxi culture.
B. Teaching important points:
To help the students learn to read a passage in a proper way and improve their ability to skim and scan.
