I. Introduction:
Advertising is part of our daily lives. Most people see and hear several hundred advertising messages everyday.
Advertising is the difficult business of bringing information to great numbers of people. The purpose of an advertisement is to make people respond—to make them react to an idea, such as helping prevent forest fire, or to make them want to buy a certain product or service.
II. Definition:
Advertising: making a product or service known to the public, esp. in order to sell it, by using the various media, or means of spreading information, including newspapers, magazines, radio, television, street signs, hoardings, direct mail, (业,学)
尤指以销售为目的,采用各种媒介或信息传播工具,包括报纸、杂志、电台、电视、马路招牌、招贴板、直接信函等,使公众了解某种产品或服务。
Marketing: activities intended to make and attract a profitable demand for a product by means such as ad., sales promotion, pricing, carrying out market research, and developing and testing new products. 市场拓展,市场营销
通过广告,促销,定价,市场调查,开发和试验新产品等各种方法为产品招徕顾客,以增加利润。
III. History:
1) It can be traced back as far as the public criers of ancient Greece. 能追溯到古希腊的当众叫卖者
They shouted out messages about their clients’ products to one and all for a fee.
2) In the late 15th century—cities and towns grew quickly—the merchants needed a way to tell people where their goods could be bought.
3) The first printed advertisement
