It governs 4 counties (Nanchang County, Xinjian County, Jinxian County, and Anyi County), 5 districts (East Lake District, West Lake District, Qingyunpu District, Wanli District, and Qingshan Lake District), 2 national level development zones (Nanchang High- and New-tech Industry Development Zone and Nanchang Economic Technology Development Zone), 2 provincial level development zones (Jiangxi Sanghai Economic Technology Development Zone and Nanchang Yingxiong Economic Technology Development Zone) and the Honggutan New District.
