The aim of the present research is to set up an alternative category of HeteroVGC within the theoretical framework of SFL.
There are two objectives associated with this aim:
(i) to distinguish between different types of HeteroVGC according to the lexical features of their non-verbal groups;
(ii) to analyze the grammatical characteristics of the different types of HeteroGVC.

Step One:
Three types of verbal constructions are identified and grouped into the HeteroVGC:
(i) the prepositional-phrase-centered HeteroVGC, ., take into consideration;
(ii) the nominal-group-centered HeteroVGC, ., have a memory (of);
(iii) the adjectival-group-centered HeteroVGC, ., make clear.
