Three years ago, I had the opportunity to begin my learning as a postgraduate in Henan Normal
University. In these three years, I have learnt a lot.
First of all, I want to give my heartfelt gratitude to my supervisor Professor Liang Xiaodong. Professor
Liang’s personality and academic accomplishment really impress me. Under the guidance of Professor
Liang, I have not only acquired the knowledge, but also learned the way to do things. Professor Liang
shows her great patience and heartfelt assistance throughout the stages of my thesis writing.
Second, I would like to express my sincere thanks to Professor Jiang Shichang and Professor Sun
Yindi. Their enlightening lectures have inspired my interest to study this greatest writer. Furthermore, they
offer me a lot of valuable suggestions which stimulate my academic inspiration during my process of
research.
Last but not least, my special thanks go to my parents and members of literature group. Their concern

摘 要
凯瑟琳·曼斯菲尔德(1888—1923)是英国现代文学史上一位杰出的女性短篇小说
家,其一生共创作了 88 篇短篇小说、大量的文学评论、日记、书信、札记以及诗歌,
她倾其短暂的一生为英国现代文学史的发展做出了不朽的贡献,因此享有“短篇小说大
师”称号。
对于曼斯菲尔德来说,幻灭感是其一生创作的主要文学主题之一,在她的笔下,各
类人群都有着深深的幻灭感。然而,长期以来,评论家多从文体学上分析她的写作技巧
和风格,近些年来也有学者对其作品的主题进行分析
