Abstract: Field observations of water and soil loss were carried out at This study was conducted in the Shangshe catchment
micro-plot scale, USLE (Universal Soil Loss Equation) plot scale and o o
( 34 32 ′20 ′′N ,116 50 ′1 2 ′′E ) of the Dabie Mountains in
the sub-catchment scale 2000 in the sub-catchment of pine forest.
Analysis of these field observation data shows that litter in forest has Yuexi prefecture of Anhui province, China. Details of the
important hydrological function. In the pine forest, the micro-plot Shangshe catchment were reported by Zhuang et al. [10]. In
without litter and grass produced 123 times soil loss of that from a the Shangshe catchment, a sub-catchment of pine forest of
micro-plot with litter and grass at the same gradient in 2000. 8600 m2 was selected for field observations (). The
average height of trees is m and the average diameter of
FUSLE (USLE in forest with a focus on litter) model was applied
to predict soil loss in a sub-catchment of pine forest. Rain erosivity trees at the m height is cm. Th
