Abstract—A preliminary study using gamma radiation on treatment is not well developed. In this work, the impact of
coking wastewater samples was carried out. Chemical oxygen gamma radiation, at different absorbed dose, on coking
demand (COD), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) and wastewater was undertaken. Herein, we report preliminary
Ammonia-nitrogen content results were obtained at different results that the gamma radiation effect was accessed through
doses (, , and kGy). As increase of the absorbed the measurement the changes of COD, BOD and
doses, a decrease of COD and BOD was observed after ammonia-nitrogen content in the coking wastewater samples
irradiation, whereas at the doses of 5 kGy and 7 kGy, the before and after radiation. From a practical point of view, the
residual concentrations of COD were gradually increasing. The present study provides a theoretical basis for coking
content variations of ammonia-nitrogen with increasing wastewater radiation treatment with gamma radiation.

irradiation of coking wastewater has no or little effect on the 2. MATERIALS AND METHODS
