Abstrac t- Cuprous oxide (Cu2O)/rectorite posites position of H2O2 under light irradiation to produce the
were prepared through polyol method by using cupric acetate strong oxidative ·OH. Rectorite is a kind of well known
complex as precursor of Cu, aiming to utilize the iron species in layered clay mineral. And there are a few kinds of iron
the clay material and hydrogen peroxide derived from Cu2O to species ponents of rectorite [5]. Recently, rectorite has
form a novel immobilized Fenton system. The obtained
been used as the templates for synthesis of the semiconductor
posites were characterized by X-ray diffraction,
Scanning electron microscopy and X-ray Photoelectron posite (CdS [6], TiO2 [7]). That means if we
compose with rectorite and Cu O, the Cu O/rectorite
Spectroscopy analysis. The results indicated that Cu2O exist in at 2 2
least three forms: Cu2O adsorbed at surface, grew at the edge of posites can build a novel immobilized Fenton system
layers, and plugged in montmorillonite-like layers of rectorite. to pose the H2O2 generated from Cu2O to ·O
