Abstract—Ruthenium supported on active carbon-ceramic sphere as As an innovative material, active carbon-plex
catalysts were evaluated through the catalytic wet air bines the properties of ceramic materials (., high
(CWAO) of resin effluent in a packed-bed reactor. Active carbon- mechanical strength, three-dimensional structure, etc) with
ceramic sphere supported ruthenium catalysts were prepared using those of carbonaceous materials (., adjustable surface
the RuCl3 solution impregnation onto these supports, the ruthenium properties). These materials are abrasion resistant and have a
loading was fixed at 3 wt. % of AC in the support. The activity order high crushing strength, a low pressure drop and a good textural

without catalysts. As optimum catalyst, the Ru/KC-120 catalyst reducing pressure losses and plugging of the catalyst.
displays the higher stability in the CWAO of resin effluent during 30
