Abstract—The present paper deals with the efficiency of a novel CSt work structure. So, CSAX not only has the good
macromolecule ulant crosslinked starch-graft- effect of ulation but also has the capacity to trap heavy
polyacrylamide-co-sodium xanthate (CSAX) to remove Cr(VI) metal ions. Our group has reported the CSAX as ulant to
from water sample of a water plant. The results showed that the remove the heavy metals from wastewaters with higher
CSAX () is capable of removing up to % of Cr(VI) concentration of hazardous metal ions[8,9]. Here we discuss
from water sample having low initial concentration ()
under the optimum conditions. The water treated satisfied the the potential of CSAX in removal of Cr(VI) from a water
provisional guideline of 50µg/L for Cr(Ⅵ) in drinking water sample which contains lower concentration of Cr ions.
