As main writer of 《The New Yorker》,White created “writing style of 《The New Yorker》”.White cared about everything in the world, his moral(道德) was as good as his article .Besides his essay, he also wrote three books for children:《 Stuart Little 》(精灵鼠小弟),《 Charlotte’s Web 》and 《The Trumpet of the Swan》(吹小号(xiǎo hào)的天鹅).

Wilbur was born a runt and saved by Fern who looked after him until he was five weeks old. He was pampered(纵容(zòngróng)) and babied by her and was completely content(满足的) when he was surrounded by Fern's love. When he was then taken from her, he was very lonely until he found love when he met Charlotte.

Charlotte was practical, beautiful and skilled. She was clever and loyal(忠诚(zhōngchéng)的) to her friends. she was the first to comfort Wilbur by assuring him she would save him when he found out that he was to be killed at Christmas time. Her love for Wilbur pushed her to save his life and she managed to produce a miracle. she singlehandedly managed to make the human see in Wilbur what she saw: a ‘terrific’ ‘radiant’ and‘humble’ pig. Throughout the tale she mothered Wilbur and looked after him as if he were her own. She worked tirelessly to save him and even though she was dying at the end of the novel, she motivated(激励) herself to write the words that would secure his safety.
