Abstract
MaryAustin was an American novelist, essayist, mainly writing on AmericanIndian culture and social problems. The Land of Little Rain was her masterpiece. My thesis attempts to interpret this text in ecofeminist perspectiveiLBHrnAILg
This thesis consists of five parts, including introduction and conclusion. The introduction, firstly, reviews the significance of MaryAustin and her works. Secondly, it summarizes the previous study on her works and points out their deficiency. Then it briefly 川uminates the concept of ecofeminism, ecofeminist theory and ecofeminist critical approach. xhaqx74J0x
The first chapter tries to explorehow MaryAustin becomes an ecofeminist, which is analyzed respectively from her social background, personal experience, and her writings and statements. She lives in an era when feminism and envir
