It is vividly illustrated in the upper cartoon that a variety of fishes were swimming freely in the sea, while only one fish ing boat was catch ing them in 1900. On the con trary, nu merous boats were fish ing the only one fish in 1995. We are in formed that with the in crease of commercial fish ing, the nu mber of fishes sharply decreased.
The purpose of these pictures is to show us that due atte nti on has to be paid to the decrease of natural resources. To begin with, with the rapid development of world economy, people explore all kinds of natural resources to make profits, such as the ocean fish, oil and gas. Furthermore, it is known to us all that grow ing populati on also n eed more resources as to satisfy their daily n eeds. Most importa ntly, we have not realized the worse destructio n suffered by the n atural resources and environment.
