[Abstract] Objective To investigate the influence of different dosages of melatonin on the short-term space memory of big rats . Methods Irrigate the big rats’paunches with different dosages of melatonin, and test them with the Y-type labyrinth, and observe the right times of big rats, and analyse the data with SPSS. Results The high dosage melatonin has no apparent effect on the short-term space memory, and the low dosage melatonin can improve short-term space memory of big rats . Conclusions The high dosage melatonin has no apparent effect on the short-term space memory, and the low dosage melatonin can improve short-term space memory of big rats.

Preface
Melatonin(MLT),is an indole neutrohormone, which is produced and secreted by conarium, regulating lots of physical functions anism. Recently, research showed that MLT does effect the short-term space memory, but till now people cannot draw a certain conclusion. It is reported that MLT can improve the study ability and memory which are caused by persistent illumination or drug . Argyron belived that MLT could improve the study ability and memory, for they had observed that MLT could shorten the identified time of big rat colony to remember things by smelling[3].
