Abstract The lightweight design criterion and power decentralized traction are normally used in high speed trains.
The lightweight design leads to increase the elastic vibration of the car body and the power decentralized traction needs to

install a suspended equipment under the car body which causes the coupled vibration between the car body and

equipment. In order to solve the problem an inerter was applied in the underframe suspended equipment for high speed

trains a novel suspended equipment vibration suppression system was designed and a rigid-flexible coupling vertical
dynamic model of the car body installed with the underframe inerter-based suspended equipment was established. The
