with metformin. The treatment effect was compared between the two groups. Results Before treatment, no statistical difference was found in
the FPG, 2hPG and HbA1c levels between the two groups (P >). After treatment, the FPG, 2hPG and HbAlc levels of the study group
were lower than those of the control group (P <). Before treatment, no statistical difference was found in the TC, TG, LDL-C and
HDL-C levels between the two groups (P >). After treatment, the TC, TG and LDL-C levels of the study group were lower than those of
the control group, and HDL-C level was higher than that of the control group (P <). Conclusions Metformin in the treatment of type 2
diabetes mellitus can effectively control their blood glucose level and improve the blood lipid level.
