Abstract: A three dimensional shell model of finite element method and boundary element method
puting vibration and acoustic radiation of a finite cylindrical p ipe is established. The vibration
modes of the p ipe shell are analyzed numerically and experimentally. Results of the mode analysis with
ANSYS code are input to BEM software SYSNO ISE. Then the sound radiation power level of the fluid
structure coup ling model of the p ipe is obtained. Influence of various constraint conditions, thickness and
damp ing on the sound radiation of p ipe vibration is studied. Suggestions for reducing structural vibration
and acoustic radiation are p roposed.
