Abstract :Based on t he acoustic transfer vector concept (A TV) , t he application approach to struct ural
acoustic radiated prediction using t he A TV technology for I. C. engine was st udied. Taking a four cylinder
diesel engine as an example , acoustic response such as t he entire engine’s radiation power , t he field point
sound pressure level and t he panel acoustic contribution , radiation efficiency etc. was calculated. It shows
t hat t he A TV technology , based on t he vibro acoustic relationship between the engine vibrations and the a
coustic pressure field , is an effective approach to quickly evaluate t he vibro acoustic response in the engine
development process.
