What is Chariot?
Chariot tests anhariot Function
Endpoint 1 keeps its half of the application script, and forwards the other half to Endpoint 2. When Endpoint 2 has acknowledged when it is ready to receive data, Endpoint 1 replies to the Console. When the Console recognizes that the endpoint pair is ready, the Console directs the pair to start the test.
The two endpoints execute their application script , with Endpoint 1 collecting the timing records that contain the result data.
Endpoint 1 returns timing records to the Console, which interprets, analyzes, and shows the results.
Performance Endpoints
In order to use Chariot, the Endpoint software must be installed on each computer to be used during testing.
The Endpoint software is free of charge, and can be downloaded from the Web:

Endpoints support the Windows protocols:
TCP
UDP
SPX
IPX
Under Windows, the endpoint can run as a service, or as a “one time〞 Web client.
Supported OS:
Windows 95, 98, Me, 2000
UNIX
Endpoint service can be started or stopped using the “net stop netiqendpoint〞, or from the “services〞 dialog box (NetIQ Endpoint)
Chariot File Types
Chariot test file uses the extension “.tst〞
The application script file uses the extension “.scr〞
The test file is write-protected while it is being used during a test.
Script files are read directly into the test that is being created or modified.
The test file contains a separate script for each endpoint pair.

64 MB recommended for better performance. Depends on RAM usage of protocol stack and number of concurrent endpoint pairs.

Minimum resolution of 800x600
