movement or situation. As we know movies have a huge impact on how we understand culture, I’ll investigate into The Pursuit of Happiness in a more detailed and exact fashion and explain how important communication and culture is.
The Pursuit of Happyness is “a 2006 American biographical film directed by Gabriele Muccino. It inspired by a true life story about how a man fought his way from struggles with his family, his finances to the point of homelessness to eventually set up a brokerage firm” (Cai Wei, Peng). In The Pursuit of Happyness, Will Smith plays Chris Gardner, a bright, motivated and talented man living on the last of his means. Chris is constantly looking for a consistent quality of life, but seems to get beaten down at every road. In 1981, in San Francisco, Chris Gardner (Will Smith) invests his family's savings in portable bone-density scanners which financially breaks the family and as a result, his wife Linda (Thandie Newton) leaves Chris Gardner and their son Christopher (Jaden Smith). When Gardner earns the chance to become an internship at a prestigious stock brokerage firm, he and his son endure many hardships, including being homeless and living in shelters, in pursuit of his dream of a better life for the two of them. Eventually, Chris Gardner overcomes all the plights and makes a success (Cai Wei, Peng).
