Introduction
Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has been practiced for at least 2000 years in China. It is based on two fundamental theories, yin-yang and five elements (wu xing), which together explain all change as well as all natural phenomena in the universe, including human -yang theory posits that the universe is a whole composed of two opposites, yin and yang, which are interdependent and can transform into each other. Their equilibrium ensures that harmony, including the harmony of the body, is maintained.
