preface-iiUsing Momentum: Student’s Guide
Preface
Welcome
This is the Student’s Guide for the Momentum training course, software release of the
Advanced Design System. Each chapter is a tutorial module that is supported with an
instructor’s slide set. These modules are lessons designed for selective classroom use in
a one-day training course. Modules and topics are arranged in a logical sequence to give
the student a start-to-finish knowledge of using Momentum. It is up to the discretion of
the instructor to refine the order of these modules, to add or delete material, and to
customize the course to best fit the student population.
Course Goals
The goals of this course are:
to provide the basics for using Momentum to design and simulate passive circuits.
to build confidence and efficiency using Momentum.
to give examples that illustrate how to use the Momentum interface, including
techniques that are specific to Momentum.
Assumptions
This course assumes that::
You have some experience with the Advanced Design System.
You have at least introductory knowledge of the UNIX operating system and / or the
Windows environments such as Windows NT or Windows 9
